Carbon labelling (CarbonLabelling) is designed to mitigate climate change and reduce GreenhouseGases (GHG) emissions.

France's recently issued "new environmental protection act" (Grenelle2) requires that products sold in the French market be mandatory to disclose environmental information of products, including marking their entire life cycle (i.e., the whole process of raw materials, manufacturing, storage and pportation, abandonment to recycling) and the carbon content of their packaging, i.e., the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted from the production of goods in the production process.

It is used to indicate the carbon information of consumers' products.

The bill will begin trial operation in July 1, 2011 for at least 1 years.

This means that in future, China's export to France and other EU countries, shoes and clothing products must be labeled "carbon labelling".

As the supplier of the global industrial chain, most of China's foreign trade enterprises also need to take corresponding measures under the international situation.

If the carbon label is widely accepted by enterprises and consumers, it will bring certain impact to enterprises. At the same time, how to reduce the total carbon value of enterprises will become a problem that enterprises must think about.

Popularize low carbon emission technology and quantify the amount of greenhouse gas emissions emitted by commodities in the production process on product labels.

Labels are used to inform consumers about the carbon information of their products in the form of labels.

However, the "carbon label" is not external to the outside world. At present, China has not yet launched the "carbon label", and the domestic WAL-MART's shelves products have no relevant requirements for the time being.

But the external pressure brought by low carbon economy has already appeared.

Whether the implementation of medium carbon labels can achieve the established goals depends on two basic factors: first, producers and consumers must be rational; they must have the tendency to protect the climate and environment, and are willing to pay for the increase in carbon labels. Two, it is necessary to check the carbon footprint of international trade products.
