Q: can you talk about the design process of the Pump Fury shoes jointly designed with Reebok in collaboration with 3.V.O.7.?


Vanness: I remember when I was involved in the design of this shoe, I recalled many of the past Reebok Pump Fury designs. Most of them were exaggerated in color and appearance. So I thought, I thought it would be better to be simple, not so crazy. Perhaps the concise design concept like "Less is more." would be more acceptable to the public, and it should be comfortable and well matched as the main demand. Purple is my favorite color, and it also symbolizes "Royalty" (loyalty), and the printed circles and love patterns on my shoes represent "Eternity" (Yong Heng) for me. These two symbols are important beliefs for me.


Q: is it pleasant or painful to design?


Vanness: it's all for me! (laughs)


Q: how long did the design process take?


Vanness: it was about two months ago, but it took about three or four months to go back and forth. But at that time, it has also been designing and planning the products that will work together with Reebok in the first half of next year. Now it has also started to be the creative director of Reebok "R" series in Greater China. So we can definitely expect that many interesting shoes will be released later. It will be fun!


Q: what is the most difficult part in the design process?


Vanness: I think the most difficult thing is how to show your idea in the design, because Reebok Global Team also has their concerns, such as the needs of the market, and so on; so it is the most difficult for me to get a common understanding between the two sides with good communication.


Q: is there enough room to play in the design process?


Vanness: I think there is more and more room for play. The premise is to respect each other. In fact, it is like sending an album. When both sides catch each other's style and tacit understanding, then it will go smoothly.
