Affected by the uncertainty of trade negotiations and the weakening of export environment, the growth rate of textile and garment exports in China has declined in August 2019. Since September 1, 2019, the United States has imposed a 15% tariff on Chinese textile and apparel products. It is estimated that the pressure on industrial exports will still be greater in September. If negotiations on trade negotiations are agreed, the growth of textile and clothing exports is expected to improve in the future.

Comparison of 5 day average data volume of Textile City in 2015-2019 years

Judging from the years, the turnover of Textile City in August is mostly in the recovery period. In 2019 1-8, the total volume of light textile city was 14 billion 466 million 120 thousand meters, down 1% from the same period last year. But the volume of Textile City in August 2019 was higher than that of the same period last year, and higher than the ten year average. The total turnover in the month increased by 28 million 670 thousand meters compared with the same period last year, and the length of the fabrics increased by 11 million 130 thousand meters compared with the same period last year. The short fiber fabrics increased by 7 million 850 thousand meters compared with the same period last year, and the cotton fabrics fell 810 thousand meters compared with that of the same year. Polyester cotton fabrics dropped 1 million 390 thousand meters compared with that of the same year, and polyester and viscose fabrics rose 890 thousand meters compared with the same period last year.

On the whole, the textile environment is weak, the terminal inventory is large, the enthusiasm for purchasing fabrics is not good, the volume of orders has shrunk obviously compared with last year, coupled with the continuous production of field capacity, resulting in the imbalance between the supply and demand of the market is more and more obvious.
