New Environmental ProtectionSustainable

Today, the environmental awareness of global consumers is constantly being strengthened. When buying new clothes, they choose not only to design, color, tailor and price, but also to pay attention to the source, origin, production mode and other factors of clothing materials.

In the process of garment manufacturing, many printing and dyeing factories and textile factories discharge waste water containing harmful chemicals into the water supply, causing serious water pollution problems and affecting ecological development. This problem has prompted governments to take restrictive measures and promote the sustainable development strategy of global apparel brands.

Some industry leaders, in order to seize the environmental protection draught, have introduced new technologies and launched green chemicals solutions to the market.

A breakthrough in denim printing and dyeing technology

New aniline free indigo dye

The traditional indigo has become a classic symbol. It symbolizes denim and jeans in the eyes of consumers. The market is in urgent need of a non-toxic substitute to replace the traditional dyes used in this color. In order to meet this market demand, Archroma, leader of global dye and specialty chemicals, launched a new non-toxic dye Denisol Pure Indigo 30 in May 2018. This new aniline free indigo dye is produced in Angang zero liquid discharge plant.

During the production process, some aniline will remain in indigo dye, so it is difficult to remove it from the fabric. The remaining aniline impurities (about 300 tonnes per year) are emitted during dyeing. But this process may cause problems, because aniline is toxic to aquatic organisms. In addition, it has an impact on factory workers. Because of its toxicity, aniline is now being included in the RSL of some major clothing brands and retailers.

Therefore, the launch of the new Denisol Pure Indigo 30 liquid dye is aimed at the aniline free indigo solution developed by designers, manufacturers and brands who are eager to obtain pure indigo.

Angco tested the new dye at the Absolute Denim factory, because the company wanted to ensure that the new indigo dye has the same properties as the traditional indigo dye. Absolute Denim is the first manufacturer to convert its production 100% into aniline free dyed denim.

Green indigo spray dyeing process for mass production

DyStar, a developer of dyes and chemicals, and a rotary atomizer developer who provides customized solutions for dyeing and finishing of warp, fabric and nonwovens, RotaSpray has successfully developed the indigo spray dyeing process for mass production, which can help denim manufacturers significantly reduce environmental impact.

Taking advantage of the recent technological breakthroughs, the two companies announced a salt free dyeing solution for the denim industry. This new technology has obtained the important ECO certificate, which is highly flexible for small batch dyeing. It can reduce water consumption and sewage discharge, reduce the effect of dyeing process on yarn, and simplify the formulation changes.

The new spray dyeing technology combines de star 40% pre reduction liquid indigo, unique organic reductant Sera Con C-RDA, and EPO patented RotoDyer and RotoCoater spray technology. Although rotary atomizers have been used in textile industry for decades, they are mainly used for re wetting textiles.

By adjusting the chip dyeing process and machine design, coatings including DyStar Indigo Coat, Cassulfon, Remazol/Levafix and Imperon dyes can also be applied to this spray dyeing process. The spraying of curing agents and oxidizing agents can also be integrated into the dyeing machine and the rope dyeing machine.

Environmental friendly diffusion promoter suitable for polyester dyeing

Huntsman Huntsman Textile Effects launched a new generation of UNIVADINE E3-3D diffusion enhancer in September 2018 to help textile mills comply with current and expected industry sustainability standards, and conduct environmentally friendly and efficient dyeing of polyester fibers, superfine polyester fibers and their blended products.

It is reported that the dispersant accelerant is scent, without benzyl benzoate and other harmful substances. As part of the Huntsman innovation dyEvolution printing and dyeing auxiliaries series, the technology of Huntsman active diffusion is used to achieve quick dyeing effect. The leveling, slow dyeing and transfer dyeing characteristics are excellent.

In addition, the diffusion accelerator has a high affinity for polyester fibers, and even if the temperature is low, it can also expand the fibers and enhance the diffusivity of disperse dyes. Multiple leveling mechanism can slow down the dye absorption rate to ensure the dyeing is safe and flawless. With the increase of dye bath temperature, the product can strongly support the dispersion and dyeing characteristics of disperse dyes, and ensure that the fabric fibers uniformly absorb dye molecules.

The UNIVADINE E3-3D diffusion accelerator can be used for tight winding or high density polyester yarn dyeing. It is also suitable for spray dyeing without adding foam inhibitor.

The active diffusion technology can reduce contact with high heat, thereby minimizing the damage of elastic fibers in polyester / spandex blended fabric and achieving the same coloring effect in ultrafine polyester fibers. In addition, diffusion enhancers provide excellent dye transfer support and enhance reproducibility of dyeing. No additional levelling agent is needed in dyeing plants.

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX

Certified Digital Printing Ink

The DuPont Advanced Printing announced that its Artistri ink had passed ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX certification.

The new certification covers the combination of direct jet clothing (DTG) and grey cloth roll to roll (RTR) textile digital printing DuPont Artistri digital textile ink and pretreatment fluid product, including pretreatment fluid, acid dye ink, active ink, high temperature disperse ink, coating ink and heat transfer ink.

Artistri ink is bright and bright, with excellent printing stability and high color fastness. The ink combines DuPont patented dispersive color paste, polymer and ink formulations to provide advanced digital textile ink product mix.

From brightly coloured and strong pigments to customized formula, Artistri ink ensures color stability during production and keeps color free for a long time.

The company's latest Artistri Brite P5003 direct jet coating ink is a fabric pretreatment product, suitable for dark cotton t-shirts, which can achieve efficient and consistent printing, colorful printing, bright and washable, while Artistri P5010 is used in white cotton shirts and polyester fiber shirts. They all have higher fastness to washing, and white ink has high efficiency and excellent hot pressing performance.
