Since the start of the Lanmei cooperation mechanism, in the past three years, Lanmei cooperation has developed into one of the most dynamic and potential cooperation mechanisms in the Mekong sub region. In three years, LM has accelerated its growth period from the incubation period to the "Lan Mei speed" and "Lan Mei efficiency", and the cooperation results exceeded expectations.

As one of the priority areas of the national productivity cooperation in Lanmei region, China's textile industry has responded positively to the development requirements of the cooperative mechanism, and organized the international capacity cooperation of the textile and garment industry in the Lanmei River Basin.

In October 17th, LAN Mei textile Cooperation summit hosted by the China Textile Industry Federation and the textile industry branch of the China Council for the promotion of international trade was held in Shengze Town, Jiangsu province. As a key textile industry cooperation project supported by the national Lanmei cooperation special fund, the summit was supported by various government departments such as the Ministry of foreign affairs and the Ministry of industry and commerce, and also received positive responses from the Mekong River five industrial sectors.

Important achievements of the summit

The summit included over 600 guests from 24 countries and regions at home and abroad, including the government of the five Mekong rivers, textile industry associations, professional industrial parks, key textile and garment enterprises, industrial research institutions, educational institutions, embassies and consulates in China, and nearly 100 textile and garment enterprises invested in the Mekong River basin. At the meeting, three important achievements were officially released:

02 the long term cooperation mechanism of "Lan Mei textile and garment industry dialogue" was officially launched.

03 the report on Trade and investment cooperation between China and the Mekong River textile and garment industry is officially released.

The summit was chaired by the director of the International Trade Office of the China Federation of textile industry, the Secretary General of the China textile international capacity cooperation enterprise alliance, and vice chairman of the textile industry branch of China Council for the promotion of trade. Lin Yunfeng chaired the summit. Lin Yunfeng said that the textile and clothing cooperation in Lanmei region has been developing remarkably in recent years. The six countries have great potential in terms of factor endowment, industrial level and export market. At the end of 2018, the series of Lanmei cooperation fund projects announced by the China Textile Association of the China Council for trade promotion were successfully approved. At present, the project covers a series of work smoothly entered the implementation stage, the results of the work also invited all the industry colleagues to witness and share.

The chairman of the China Textile Industry Federation Party committee and secretary general, the chairman of the Federation of China textile international productive capacity cooperation enterprises, Gao Yong, chairman of the Burma Garment Association, Myint Soe, the Laotian garment industry association chairman Xaybandith Rasphone, the Vietnam textile and Garment Association vice chairman Truong Van Cam, the Thailand National Textile Industry Federation vice chairman Jumnong Nawasmittawong, the Kampuchea Garment Association Secretary General Loo Chee and other Lanmei six textile and garment association representatives signed the "joint statement on Lanmei textile and garment productivity cooperation" at the summit, and jointly announced the "long Mei textile and garment industry dialogue" long-term cooperation mechanism officially launched.

The establishment of the dialogue mechanism for the textile and garment industry in LanMei river has an important and positive role for the exchange and cooperation between Lanmei and six countries. Lanmei six textile and Garment Manufacturers Association agreed to establish a dialogue mechanism. In the future, six countries will work hand in hand to give full play to the strength of the associations of all countries to further consolidate the close ties between the Lancangjiang and Mekong countries and to actively promote the healthy and sustainable development of the textile and garment industry in six countries.

At the meeting, vice chairman of the China Textile Industry Federation, executive director of China textile international capacity cooperation enterprise alliance and Xu Yingxin, chairman of the textile industry branch of China Council for the promotion of trade, formally released the report on Trade and investment cooperation between China and the Mekong River textile and garment industry.

In recent years, the import and export trade between China and the Mekong River in the textile and garment industry has been active, and direct investment has continued to grow. Kampuchea, Laos, Burma, Thailand and Vietnam have become the preferred destination for Chinese textile enterprises to invest abroad. Against this background, the China Federation of textile industry has gathered industry forces to compile and write a report on Trade and investment cooperation between China and the Mekong River textile and garment industry.

Xu Yingxin said that with the development of the textile industry chain of the Mekong River to the intensive and deep processing links, the high quality development of China's textile industry will surely bring the most high-quality industrial resources and broad market opportunities for the Mekong River. The Chinese textile industry hopes to build a more efficient and integrated transnational industrial system through further deepening the industrial chain and supply chain cooperation with the five Mekong rivers, and jointly promoting and promoting the prosperity and development of the textile industry in Lanmei.

Ji Lingpeng, Deputy National Coordinator of the Lancangjiang Mekong cooperation Secretariat of the Ministry of foreign affairs of Asia, was invited to attend the meeting. He introduced the progress of LAN Mei cooperation from a national and macro perspective, looked forward to the vision of cooperation, and expressed confidence in the cooperation of the textile industry.

In the summit dialogue session, the two major dialogues of "Lanmei textile and garment industry cooperation - achievements and future" and "focus hot spot - Burma and Vietnam's front-line investment experience" are launched one by one. The Deputy Secretary General of the China Textile Industry Federation, Yuan Hongping, director of the foreign affairs office, director of the marketing department of the China Textile Industry Federation, and Liang Pengcheng, executive vice president of the China Textile Association of the China Council for the promotion of trade, held talks with the industry peers from the Mekong River and the forerunners of the international layout.

The guests first introduced the development status, opportunities and challenges of the textile and garment industry in their respective countries, and discussed extensively how to better carry out international exchanges and cooperation, and how to further strengthen the integration and innovation of the industrial chain. All of them put forward constructive suggestions and suggestions on the cooperation in the supply chain, industrial chain and value chain, and put forward requirements for government support, association services and enterprise development.

At the end of the summit, the completion ceremony of the 2019 senior research class of Lanmei textile and garment industry was successfully held. As a series of projects to promote the productivity cooperation between Lanzhou and Meizhou textile and apparel industries, the seminar will be held for 11 days. Through the rich forms of lectures and lectures, round table exchanges of students, enterprise cluster research and experience seminars, we will build a deep integration platform for the textile and garment production cooperation in Lanmei basin from a multi-dimensional perspective, deepen our understanding of the development process of China's textile and garment industry, understand the connotation of "Lan Mei cooperation", and further enhance the understanding and participation of all countries in the Lanmei cooperation mechanism so as to promote deeper cooperation in the field of textile and garment industry in the region.

Lanmei cooperation is like a new locomotive, bringing the cooperation between China and the Mekong River into the "high-speed rail era", and laying a solid foundation for the deep cooperation between China and the Mekong River in the textile field. The summit of Lanmei textile co operation is to jointly and jointly build and share all the countries along the Lancangjiang Mekong River. In order to further promote the all-round cooperation and multi field integration of the global textile industry, we will build a bridge for further promoting international cooperation in textile and garment industry.
