Adidas Launches Marine Plastic Thermal Insulation Garments

The famous German sportswear brand Adidas will launch the first clothing style using Parley Ocean Plastic recycled plastic production, all of which have PrimaLoft insulation characteristics.

Before the initiative was launched, PrimaLoft was designated as the first thermal insulation supplier in the textile industry to cooperate with Parley in October (2019).

Adidas is a founding member of Parley for the Oceans, a marine environmental protection organization. It extracts plastic waste from remote islands, beaches and coastal communities, and rebuilds it into industrial yarns and fibers, which can be used to produce functional products. Adidas now uses all kinds of marine waste plastics to produce all kinds of footwear and clothing products.

Recycling of recycled plastics helps to solve one of the biggest challenges facing branding businesses: reducing excessive reliance on plastics in the beginning of the plateau and producing CO2 emissions from production processes. Adidas estimates that by the end of 2019, 11 million pairs of shoes will be produced by using Parley Ocean Plastic plasticizing materials, and that only 11 million recycled polyester materials can be used for product production until 2024.

The new adidas clothing series with PrimaLoft insulation properties will be listed in 2020 with Parley Ocean Plastic material.
