The 2020 edition of the STANDARD100 eco environmental friendly textile product certification standard issued by the international environmental textile association early this year will take effect on all certified products from April 1st. The new standard extends the scope of application and improves the limit of related substances. The international market of textile exports will face a great challenge, and the relevant export enterprises should attach importance to it.

The main contents of the new edition are: monitoring new nitrosamines and nitroso substances in the material; the herbicide glyphosate and its salts have been included in the standard catalogue after a year's monitoring, limiting the total content of harmful elements, as well as mercury; the total limit value of o-benzoic acid two esters is tightened, and is limited to <500mg/kg from the original total <1000mg/kg. New perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) substances are added. It is worth noting that the requirements of the new standards in the new standards exceed our national and international standards. A number of monitoring substances, pesticides and restricted substances are added, including ethoxylaniline, mycophenolate and zinc borate.

China is the world's largest producer and exporter of textile and clothing, and its output has exceeded half of the world's total output. The annual export volume exceeds 40% of the total global textile and apparel trade.

The customs reminds the relevant enterprises: first, to promote the upgrading of the green technology in the textile industry, to improve the production technology, to strengthen product ecological safety checks, and to realize the sustainable development of enterprises; the two is to strictly implement the quality control, establish the high-risk raw material acceptance system, strictly implement the finished product inspection, and ensure that the product quality meets the requirements; Three, we should seize the opportunity of the "one belt and one way" initiative and intensify our efforts to expand the textile and garment market in the countries and regions along the belt and road, and establish a diversified market system.
