Retail Sales In The Netherlands Grew By 9.8% In June 2020

The Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported recently that the retail revenue of the Netherlands in June this year increased by 9.8% compared with the same period last year, which was the highest since CBS began to publish the statistics in 2005.

In June, the revenue of non food retail stores increased by 8.5%, while that of food and grocery stores increased by 6.5%,

In addition, the revenue of DIY, kitchen and floor shops maintained double-digit growth for five consecutive months, while the revenue of clothing, footwear and leather products stores continued to decline significantly in recent months, but the decline in June was much lower than that in the previous three months.

In June this year, the revenue of online stores increased by 45.1% compared with the same period in 2019, the increase was the third highest since CBS began to publish this statistical data in January 2014, which was only lower than that in April and may. The revenue of pure online stores increased by 40.9%, while the revenue of physical stores and multi-channel sales stores operated by network also increased by 50.6%.
