Brazil Launches Anti Dumping Investigation On Chinese Socks

On August 17, 2020, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat issued announcement No. 53 of 2020 in the Federal Government Gazette, initiating an anti-dumping investigation on socks originating in China, Paraguay and Hong Kong, China, in response to the application submitted by the Brazilian textile and clothing industry association. The products of this survey are men's socks, women's socks and baby socks, which are used for daily, leisure, social activities or sports. Animal (dog) socks are not included in this investigation. This case involves all 24 products under 6115 and 4 products under 6111. The dumping investigation period of this case is from July 2018 to June 2019, and the injury investigation period is from July 2014 to June 2019.

The questionnaire will be sent to all exporters / producers, importers and other domestic manufacturers, and stakeholders should submit their responses via the digital information system (address: decomdigital. MDIC. Gov.br) within 30 days after receiving the questionnaire. Interested parties may apply for a hearing within five months of the initiation of the investigation.
