On the occasion of the national day and the Mid Autumn Festival, the original high-end fashion works from China have been officially included in the National Textile Museum of Germany. As an exhibition collection with the theme of "Chinese gold thread embroidered Dragon Textile" to be held soon, it is introduced and displayed to the general public of Germany. It is a treasure of Chinese fashion culture with unique charm and lasting in the change of times.

A blend of tradition and fashion

Chinese original works

In Liu qiongying's opinion, the addition of such modern fashion and innovative design works has added elements of cross-cultural exchange and integration between China and Europe for a single collection exhibition.

Liu qiongying, from Chengdu, is the founder of sheme, a Chinese high-end women's shoe brand known as "walking art". According to her introduction, the works presented to the German Textile Museum include two pairs of black gold embroidered short boots by sheme, named "a hundred birds are courting the Phoenix" and "Haihai River Cliff", and her own private collection of works - "modern new dragon robes".

Among them, "sea water river cliff" short boots combine the river water cliff totem on the Dragon Robe of the palace museum with the outline of the Grand Palace in Paris, France. On the basis of traditional Chinese dragon pattern aesthetics, it shows the inclusiveness of Chinese and Western culture.

On September 29, the two sides held a donation ceremony in the museum. Sheme's two pairs of short boots also won the permanent collection certificate of the German Textile Museum, and were officially included in the collection.

From a century of textile trade

Theme Exhibition

The German Textile Museum, located in kleifeld, N.W., has a collection of nearly 30000 pieces of textiles, spanning more than 2000 years of history, from silk to velvet, including various materials, colors and designs, giving the German people the opportunity to see the development and evolution of global fashion design and manufacturing technology in ancient and modern times. Due to the existence of highly sensitive materials in the materials and colors of exhibits, and the high requirements for preservation and exhibition environment, the museum does not set up permanent exhibitions, but presents different themes from time to time.

At present, the museum is preparing an exhibition with the theme of "Chinese gold thread embroidered dragon textiles", which will open on November 1 for five months.

"Today's women give us a pair of special totem, because they are very inspired by Chinese traditional design." At the donation ceremony, the director of the German Textile Museum said, "this is just in line with our upcoming theme exhibition - fabrics and clothing with golden dragon patterns."

According to the museum, 400 years ago, the city of crayfield in Germany started silk trade with Hangzhou, China. Inspired by this, the museum plans to display fabrics and costumes with gold thread embroidery patterns from the Yuan Dynasty to the people's Republic of China, including emperor's Dragon robes in the 18th century and woolen suits in the 20th century.

Behind the donation is

The trend of cultural blending between China and Germany

Talking about the donation, Liu qiongying also said that it was accidental and inevitable.

Not long ago, she visited the museum during her stay in Germany. When she learned that there would be an exhibition of gold embroidered dragons from China, she immediately thought of sheme's black gold embroidered short boots, inspired by the Dragon robes of the Palace Museum. So she came up with the idea of sending these works to the exhibition.

At first, the museum declined sheme on the ground that it was ready to launch and everything was ready. However, when Liu qiongying visited again with her works, the museum staff were moved by her cultural heritage and ingenuity and decided to set up a special area to show the integration of Chinese traditional and contemporary fashion design.

Seemingly accidental, it is actually driven by the trend of cross-cultural exchanges and integration between China and Germany and China. Liu qiongying said that since sheme entered the European market, it has carried out good interaction and effective cooperation in the field of fashion creative design and production between China and Europe.

She also revealed that in addition to donating exhibits, sheme will also cooperate with the museum in a wider range on the theme exhibition, taking German exhibits as inspiration to create and design cultural and creative products, so as to let more Germans know Chinese culture and Chengdu culture. In addition, the two sides are still discussing the exhibition in Chengdu in one or two years.
