In November 2020, the ex factory prices of industrial producers in China decreased by 1.5% year-on-year and increased by 0.5% month on month; the purchase prices of industrial producers decreased by 1.6% year-on-year and increased by 0.7% month on month. In the same period of last year, the producer price dropped by 11.5% compared with that in the same period of last year.

I. year on year changes in industrial producer prices

Among the ex factory prices of industrial producers, the price of means of production decreased by 1.8%, 0.9% lower than that of the previous month, which affected the overall level of ex factory prices of industrial producers by about 1.34%. Among them, the prices of mining industry, raw material industry and processing industry decreased by 3.6%, 4.2% and 0.8%, respectively. The price of means of living decreased by 0.8%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared with the previous month, which affected the overall level of the ex factory price of industrial producers by about 0.20%. Among them, the price of food increased by 0.1%, the price of clothing and durable consumer goods decreased by 1.8%, and the price of general daily necessities decreased by 0.5%.

Among the purchase prices of industrial producers, the prices of nonferrous metals and wires increased by 4.0%, the prices of ferrous metals increased by 3.5%, the prices of fuel and power decreased by 8.4%, and the prices of chemical raw materials decreased by 4.6%.

2. Month on month changes in industrial producer prices

Among the ex factory prices of industrial producers, the price of means of production rose by 0.7%, an increase of 0.6% over the previous month, which affected the overall level of ex factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.50%. Among them, the prices of mining industry, raw material industry and processing industry increased by 0.8%, 1.5% and 0.4%, respectively. The price of means of living decreased from 0.1% in the previous month to 0.1% higher, which affected the overall level of industrial producers' ex factory prices to rise by about 0.02%. Among them, the price of food rose by 0.3%, the price of clothing and general daily necessities were flat, and the price of durable consumer goods decreased by 0.2%.

Among the purchase prices of industrial producers, the price of chemical raw materials increased by 1.7%, the price of fuel and power increased by 1.2%, the price of non-ferrous metal materials and wires increased by 0.8%, and the price of ferrous metal materials increased by 0.3%.
