In 2020 / 21, the purchase and processing of seed cotton will be basically completed, and lint sales will be faster than in previous years. According to the national cotton market monitoring system data, as of February 5, the lint sales rate in China was 63.3%, up 14.2 percentage points year-on-year. This month, the national cotton planting area, yield, consumption remained unchanged last month. From September to December 2020, China has imported 970000 tons of cotton, an increase of 133.7% over the same period of last year. In view of the large price difference between domestic and foreign cotton, it will continue to maintain in the short term, the quality of new cotton will decline, the import demand of high-grade cotton will increase, the import will increase from 100000 tons to 2.2 million tons, and the inventory at the end of the period will increase to 7.44 million tons. The global cotton consumption continued to recover, the output decreased compared with the previous year, the cotton production was insufficient, and the pressure of high inventory was relieved. The forecast range of international cotton price was raised to 70-85 cents.
