  According to foreign news on September 29, officials from the Agricultural Department of Haryana State of India confirmed that pink bollworm pests had broken out in the cotton crops in the sirsa region near Punjab.

 
Officials advised farmers to take preventive measures.
 
The outbreak of pink bollworm in Punjab has raised questions about the quality of cotton seeds.
 
Babu Lal, deputy director of the Ministry of agriculture, said that in view of the possible outbreak of pink bollworm on cotton crops in the region of silza, the Ministry of agriculture team visited the farmland and carried out inspections.
 
He said pink bollworm was found in the cotton crop during the inspection.
 
He said the pink bollworm is harmful to cotton crops in the middle and late stages.
