Regional Market: Current Situation Of Cameroonian Wax Dyed Fabric Market
Cameroon ecomatin website reported on March 7 that cacam cotton industry company (cicam) said it was facing great difficulties due to the impact of foreign imports, outdated production equipment and lack of working capital. At present, China's products account for 88% of the total market share, while products from West African countries account for 6% and Khartoum products account for only 6%. The main reason for the company's lack of market competitiveness is the high production costs of raw materials such as cotton, electricity and gas. The price of cotton purchased is 1000-1200 CFA per kg (about 1.7-2.0 US dollars), while the cotton purchasing price of neighboring Chad is only 400 CFA francs. The cotton industry company is the only cotton processing enterprise in Kazakhstan, and the subordinate organ of the Ministry of finance of Kazakhstan believes that the company has gone bankrupt.
