Ministry Of Commerce: Add 29 National Import Trade Promotion Innovation Demonstration Zones

Eight departments, including the Ministry of Commerce and the national development and Reform Commission, decided to set up 29 national import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zones nationwide, the Ministry of Commerce announced on the 3rd.

The head of the foreign trade department of the Ministry of Commerce said that actively expanding imports is an important part of China's promotion of high-level opening up. The Ministry of Commerce and other eight departments jointly issued the notice, adding 29 national import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zones in China, including Beijing Capital International Airport Airport Airport Airport Airport Airport Economic Zone, Shanghai Huaihai Xintiandi import trade functional zone, Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, and Qianhai Shekou free trade Zone in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Up to now, there are 43 import demonstration zones.

The person in charge pointed out that the newly established import demonstration zones should proceed from the reality of opening up in their respective regions, earnestly strengthen the two major functions of trade promotion and trade innovation, focus on optimizing the business environment, and play the four major roles of promoting import, service industry, promoting consumption and leading demonstration. All countries are welcome to deepen the cooperation of opening up and trade facilitation and promote the development of China's import and trade zone.

The official said that China has been the world's second largest importer for 13 consecutive years. It is the export market of 210 countries and regions and the main export market of 60 countries and regions. In the first half of this year, China's imports accounted for 10.6% of the world's imports. Super large scale import has not only promoted the economic development and domestic employment of the exporting countries, but also strongly supported the guarantee of domestic production and the improvement of people's livelihood.
