According to the statistics of the General Administration of customs, from January to November this year, China's textile and clothing exports reached 297.63 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4.5% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%). Among them, textile exports amounted to 136.93 billion US dollars, up 4.7% year-on-year (7.0% in RMB terms); Clothing exports reached US $160.7 billion, up 4.3% year-on-year (7.2% in RMB terms).

At present, the international environment is becoming increasingly complex and severe, and the inflation pressure of developed economies such as the United States and Europe continues to increase. Affected by factors such as weak overseas consumption demand, China's textile and garment foreign trade enterprises are facing the risk challenges of insufficient orders, and their exports are further under pressure.

In November, China's textile and clothing exports reached US $24.39 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 14.6% (in RMB terms, a year-on-year decrease of 5.6%). Among them, the textile export was US $11.27 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 14.8% (in terms of RMB, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%). Since the fall into the negative growth range in August, the decline has continued to expand; Clothing export was US $13.12 billion, down 14.4% year-on-year (5.4% year-on-year in terms of RMB), and the decline rate was 1.6% lower than that of last month.

Recently, the PMI (purchasing manager index) of the manufacturing industry released by the National Bureau of statistics dropped to 48.0% in November, which was lower than the critical point for two consecutive months, indicating that the downward pressure on the manufacturing industry has increased. Among them, the index of new orders was 46.4%, down 1.7% from the previous month, and the market demand continued to fall.

From the performance of major export markets, compared with the first half of this year, the growth rate of China's textile and garment exports to ASEAN (US $46.47 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.9%) slowed down by 2.5 percentage points from January to October this year; The growth rate of exports to the United States (US $46.14 billion, down 1.6% year-on-year) was significantly narrowed by 12.5 percentage points; Exports to the EU (US $40.27 billion, up 4.7% year-on-year), while the growth rate of exports to the EU slowed by 8.5%; Exports to Japan (US $17.08 billion, up 1.9% year-on-year) accelerated by 6.4 percentage points.

In addition, in the first 10 months of this year, China's textile industry exported 79.35 billion US dollars of textiles and clothing to the RCEP regional market, a year-on-year increase of 14%, and the growth rate continued to increase by 0.3 percentage points compared with the first half of the year. Recently, the leaders of China and ASEAN countries have jointly announced the launch of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) 3.0 negotiations. Meanwhile, they will continue to enhance the implementation capacity of the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP), which will help China's textile industry further release the trade cooperation potential with ASEAN countries.
