Hanoi, Vietnam News Agency - Vietnam Textile and Garment Association (Vitas) said that textile and garment enterprises are entering the "race track" for recruiting employees, especially skilled and sophisticated employees. Because of the good production and management capacity, not only ordinary and low-cost orders flow to Vietnamese enterprises, but also high-end and exquisite clothing orders are favored in Vietnam, and partners also trust the production capacity of Vietnamese enterprises.

Wu Dejiang, Chairman of Vitas, said that Vietnam's plans for sustainable development, green, digital governance and circular economy are the driving force for the world's brands to enter the Vietnamese market. This is a solution to promote, stabilize and develop in Vietnam, especially to encourage textile and garment enterprises to focus on creative design and reduce the proportion of OEM.

In the current context, many textile and clothing enterprises are expected to achieve recovery in the second and third quarters of this year, and the number of orders will rebound. Therefore, enterprises need stable and highly skilled labor force.

In 2023, Vietnam's textile and clothing industry will strive to achieve the goal of export volume of about $45 billion to $47 billion. Under the circumstance that the market has released many favorable signals, many enterprises have been operating at full capacity since the beginning of the year, while recruiting more high-quality human resources to meet the high-end orders of partners.

According to Vitas, trade agreements are the driving force to promote the transfer of foreign investment to Vietnam and help enterprises diversify their markets and products. In addition, Vietnam has been promoting the reduction of imports of textiles and clothing, and strengthening the localization of domestic raw materials. This is the solution for enterprises to take the initiative in raw materials.

According to the statistics of Vitas, at present, the textile and clothing industry has been localized by about 49%. It is expected that this number will increase to 51% - 55% in 2023-2025. Although major markets still face many difficulties, Vitas predicts that the export volume of Vietnam's textile and clothing industry will still reach US $45-47 billion in 2023.
