Turkey

On February 6, after two earthquakes occurred in the southeast of Turkey and the north of Syria, the textile mills in the local Gaziantep region were seriously affected. Orders and production were almost suspended. Indian textile mills and exporters also received many inquiries from Turkey and other European countries about purchasing yarn.

The Turkish Garment Manufacturers Association said that the phased production reduction of the textile clothing industry chain has been unavoidable, but the industry can use the excess capacity in the first two years (the textile capacity increased by about 25% in 2021 and 2022) to speed up the recovery of the industry chain. At present, Istanbul The textile and clothing factories in Tekirdag and Denizli have started to make up for some missing capacity. In addition, some textile and clothing factories in Malatya, Elazig and Sanliurfa regions of Turkey have also resumed production.
