Jilin City, the "China Carbon Valley", has achieved the world's first carbon fiber precursor production capacity, will spare no effort to build a "world-class carbon fiber industrial base", and the output value of the whole industrial chain is anchored to the scale of 100 billion yuan.

The reporter learned the above news on the 4th from the press conference (the second) themed "Promoting Jilin's Comprehensive Revitalization and Taking the Lead in Breakthrough" held by the Information Office of Jilin Provincial Government.

Carbon fiber is known as the "king of new materials". Jilin City is the only national carbon fiber high-tech industrialization base in China. Jilin Chemical Fiber Group, located in the local area, is the largest carbon fiber manufacturer in China. At present, 9 out of every 10 large wind turbine blade carbon fiber carbon plates produced in China are from Jilin City and Jilin Chemical Fiber Group.

Wang Ji, the mayor of Jilin City, said that in the past three years, the output value of the city's carbon fiber industry has increased by more than six times, with the carbon fiber precursor production capacity ranking first in the world and the carbon fiber production capacity ranking first in the country. At present, the product specifications cover 1K-50K, and the performance of small tow products has reached the level of T700.

According to the plan, Jilin City will implement the construction of key projects such as the whole industrial chain of 200000 tons of carbon fiber precursor, 100000 tons of carbon fiber and 50000 tons of composite materials of Jilin Chemical Fiber Group, strive to achieve the large-scale mass production of carbon fiber above T800 and T1000, and continue to consolidate the "double first" advantage of the world's first precursor production capacity and the country's first carbon fiber production capacity.

Wang Ji said that Jilin City will open up new racetracks in downstream product fields such as carbon fiber winding composite gas cylinders, automobile lightweight, aerospace, sports and leisure, improve the local conversion rate of precursor and carbon fiber and the coverage of downstream application scenarios, and accelerate the cultivation of 100 billion yuan level carbon fiber industrial clusters. "By the end of this year, carbon fiber composites and products will account for more than 20% of the total industrial chain output value, more than 40% by 2026, and more than 60% by 2030."

According to the reporter, Jilin has planned a 10 square kilometer carbon fiber industry development zone to build a carbon fiber "zero carbon" products industrial park in an all-round way.
