The main planning of Vietnam leather and footwear development in 2010 is as follows: efforts: leather and footwear industry will develop into an important industry that serves domestic demand and exports. It will help Vietnam expand job opportunities and increase foreign exchange earnings.

Leather and footwear enterprises will continue to develop through advanced technology, ISO9000 quality management system and ISO14000 environmental management system.

Product development plan: the government will encourage all trades and professions to produce raw materials and excipients needed for leather and footwear industry.

Priority should be given to developing tannery plants with advanced technology and modern equipment.
