Up to now, China has more than 7 million road vehicles, 36300 postal and express vehicles, about 1400 official ships, and about 350 general-purpose aircraft. In June last year, the last beidou-3 navigation satellite was successfully launched, and then the Beidou global network system was formally formed.

With the capability of Beidou ground-based enhancement system, Beidou accelerates its deep integration with new technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, and penetrates mass markets such as mobile phones and automobiles on a large scale, which injects more new kinetic energy into the economic and social development, and the commercialization of the new space-time intelligent track also speeds up. Since the release of the world's first submicron high-precision positioning mobile phone in 2020, Huawei has realized Lane level navigation for the first time with Qianxun location and Gaode map. So far, glory, Xiaomi, Xiaopeng, Weilai, Hongqi, GAC and other companies have used space-time intelligent services.

Compared with intelligent driving, digital geography, UAV, engineering construction and other clearly visible markets, less investment is used to solve the problems of economic and social development, space-time service application innovation.

This is the difficulty of the development of the industry, and innovation is needed in the invisible place. On the spot of the 12th China satellite navigation annual conference, the reporter saw that the application of Beidou in the fields of mass consumption such as mobile phones, watches and children's schoolbags, or in the fields of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, disaster relief and disaster reduction, and smart city are the focus of attention.

What makes Chen Jinpei feel is the positioning of mobile phones in the past few years. "At that time, the technology was very difficult, and many people didn't know whether they could make money after making it." Since 2019, the company has cooperated with chip manufacturers, terminal manufacturers and application providers in the whole industry chain. After 19 months, the company has established the full link technology from high-precision positioning capability to mobile phone terminals and mobile applications, and achieved the first sub meter high-precision positioning of mobile phones in the world.

On May 28, Xiaomi's latest two high-end flagship mobile phones, Xiaomi 11 pro and 11 ultra, will also be launched with Lane level navigation service through OTA (air upgrade). The service was first launched in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Tianjin on high and fast roads.

Compared with the traditional road level navigation, the lane level navigation can display the real road scene in high definition, display the number of lanes of the current road, ground signs and markings, entrances and exits, special lanes, etc. at the same time, combined with HD signal, it can display the user's lane position in real time. At the same time, baidu maps signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Mobile Shanghai Industrial Research Institute, and connected to the "5g + Beidou high precision positioning" system, becoming a map manufacturer supporting China Mobile's consumer mobile phone precise positioning system.

On scale and cost

It is the general trend that the integration of Beidou system and new technology is accelerated. At present, intelligent driving, digital geography and other popular applications have attracted a lot of attention and investment, but there is still a broader space for the application of space-time intelligent technology.

In addition to mobile phones and smart cars, Chihiro location promotes spatiotemporal intelligence to become a new urban infrastructure. It includes unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of autonomous flight for power grid inspection or pesticide spraying, shared bicycles for fixed-point parking, self driving buses with "dialogue" with traffic lights, intelligent cone bucket, intelligent triangle, camera and other road infrastructure with accurate space-time labels, and deformation monitoring equipment for dangerous buildings, bridges and mines, All benefit from the coverage of this spatiotemporal intelligent network.

"It's easy to copy and complicated to create. This is not a good phenomenon. We all go to grab some relatively clear markets, but we are not willing to do those innovative markets." Chen Jinpei revealed. Like icebergs, most of the spatiotemporal intelligent infrastructure of Chihiro is located "under the water".

According to Chen Jinpei, from 2019, Qianxun will invest more R & D forces into the most difficult "0-1" type of innovation. Only after the industrial chain is opened, the application will multiply and eventually form a mature market and business model.

"Just like in the early days, electricity was only used by electric lights. Now there are refrigerators, televisions, computers, and many intelligent devices that you can't imagine, so electricity has become so important." In Chen Jinpei's opinion, for spatiotemporal intelligence technology, only when the development and application scenarios are wide enough can it become a real infrastructure. At present, the biggest challenge Qianxun location is facing is how to stimulate the creativity of developers, create application modes that you can't imagine today, dig out new application scenarios, spawn all kinds of new intelligent terminals, and maximize the real potential of spatiotemporal intelligent positioning infrastructure. Beidou's services in all fields today may be only 5% of the scenarios in the next decade.

According to the 2021 white paper on the development of China's satellite navigation and location service industry, the total number of enterprises and institutions in the field of satellite navigation and location service is about 14000, and the number of employees is more than 500000. By the end of 2020, there are 84 listed companies in the industry (including the new third board). Since the launch of Beidou system, mainstream smart phone manufacturers at home and abroad, including Huawei and apple, have supported Beidou. According to the public data, in the first quarter of 2021, 79% of smart phone models applied for network access to support Beidou Positioning.

In any scenario, only after the scale is greatly increased can the cost be reduced, so that it can be widely used. Mobile phone industry is undoubtedly in the forefront of Beidou landing, but spatiotemporal smart track relies on high investment. At present, Qianxun location has taken the lead in promoting the mass production and listing of a number of high-precision positioning intelligent vehicles, and has assisted the transformation and upgrading of transportation, agriculture, power grid and other industries with space-time intelligent services.
