Nowadays, many people like to watch the online live broadcast to buy clothes. What you may not know is that the fabric of the clothes is still being prepared when placing an order, and it was delivered to customers as scheduled a few days later. How is this "speed" achieved? Next, we will follow the reporter to Shengze Town, Suzhou, one of the largest garment fabric production and trade hubs in China, to see the changes brought by the digital economy to the traditional textile industry.

Li Qiankun is the product director of a fashion fabric company in Shengze Town. At 7:30 a.m., he and his colleagues began to pay close attention to a live webcast in Nanjing. The clothes being sold live are made of the new fabrics they produce.

Reporter: Now it seems that the sales are good, right?

Li Qiankun, Product Director of an art silk company: More than 80 pieces were sold in less than 20 minutes. Then he has other (live) platforms. Together, we can estimate that there will be an order of one to two thousand meters (fabric) offline, and the brand may place an overall order to us later.

When the live broadcast was just half way through, it was predicted that the sales volume would rise. Li Qiankun informed the warehouse keeper to mobilize the white background cloth and begin to prepare for the printing of fabrics.

Li Qiankun, Product Director of an art silk company : Through live broadcast, our biggest convenience is faster information feedback. Once the clothes are sold, we immediately know what we want to do (fabrics).

Li Qiankun told the reporter that in the past, garment companies used to produce in batches and sell in stores. It would take at least one month to order fabrics according to the sales volume. At present, we only design and make a few sample clothes, take the goods with us live, and purchase fabrics at any time according to the order.

20 hour "quick response" of garment fabric enterprises

Live delivery reduces the cost of inventory, but requires higher response speed. To this end, last year, Li Qiankun's company set up a quick response team, which can enter the production process at any time according to online orders.

Before 9 o'clock, the reporter saw that the production workshop and pattern craftsmen had begun to adjust the layout according to the sample cloth and make cloth samples in advance. Soon, Li Qiankun received an order for 3600 meters from the garment company.

Li Qiankun, Product Director of an art silk company : They also have an intelligent digital platform to calculate, and (the number) is accurate every time, including every time he has to prepare some goods.

Due to the different batches of white backing cloth, it also requires the technologist to fine color the layout, so that the printed fabric can be completely consistent with the sample. However, depending on the digital selection platform introduced and established by the local government, the time for pattern design and version adjustment has been greatly shortened.

Xu Huazhu, craftsman of an art silk company : Now we have this database. It will give us a reference value in terms of the number of patterns, including the color of patterns. It is very helpful for us.

At 11:00 a.m., the adjustment of the plates was completed, and the relevant data was transmitted to the digital inkjet workshop through the network, and the five machines started printing at the same time. Since they do not need complex processes such as traditional printing, color separation, drawing and screen making, their time efficiency has been increased by 80%.

Li Qiankun, Product Director of an art silk company : When your version is confirmed, I just move the mouse and it will print out immediately. After painting, we transfer (print) it to our fabric through heat transfer.

Li Qiankun said that in the past, the fabric supply cycle was calculated by month, but now it is calculated by day or even by hour. This small batch, multi batch "small order quick reaction" method has become a new local supply mode, and the effect is very obvious. Their sales in the first two months of this year increased by 23.2% over the same period last year.

CCTV reporter Li Honggang : It's 5:20 in the morning. It has been more than 20 hours since the order was received, so this batch of fabrics has been processed completely. The next step is to carry out post sorting, and then they can deliver goods through logistics.

Scientific and technological empowerment helps speed up the textile industry chain in an all-round way

Live orders, digital printing and "quick response to small orders" are really fast enough to respond to the market. However, the reporter also found that the changes brought by digital technology to the traditional textile industry are far more than that.

Reporters in this enterprise saw that over the continuous row of looms, a "flying racket" was moving at a high speed. The technical director introduced that the "flying camera", also known as the "eagle eye", will replace the human eye with a high-speed camera when it moves above the cloth. Once "defects" are found in the cloth, it will quickly conduct big data comparison, lock the target through infrared ray, and timely remind the barricade to handle them.

Yang Junwu, workshop director of a textile enterprise : In the past, when viewed with the naked eye, some people had omissions, and flaws were not easy to find. But through this machine, the detection rate has reached 99%.

In the Oriental Textile City of Shengze Town, Sun Jianqiu, who is engaged in fabric business, recently began to use a software to push goods. This is the latest 3D technology. By scanning the cloth, the three-dimensional effect of ready-made clothes and even home textiles can be displayed on the computer. In addition to rapid revision, virtual models can also walk on the stage to show the details of the clothing cloth, so that foreign merchants can see the goods in person.

Shengze Oriental Textile City Merchant Sun Jianqiu : You can see its drape more intuitively. By rotating, you can see a situation of fabric and a situation of ready to wear at each angle, which is more convenient for them (customers) to choose and judge.

Not only that, in Shengze Town, many designers also use digital technology to integrate more scientific and technological elements into fabric development and clothing design, including clothes that use daylight to store energy and glow at night, as well as fabrics that can display different colors with temperature changes.

Jiang Nan, R&D director of an outdoor product company : The printing is made on the back. Our digital printing will show up only when the temperature changes.

The government sets up a platform to guide enterprises to promote digital transformation

Now, in the upstream of fabrics, chemical fiber, weaving, printing and dyeing and other links, some enterprises in Shengze Town, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province have realized online monitoring of production process, data collection of the whole process and information sharing through the industrial Internet platform. The local government is also establishing a digital service platform, introducing relevant reward and subsidy policies, guiding enterprises to "cloud data", and comprehensively promoting digital transformation and intelligent transformation. Up to now, Shengze Town has invested more than 10.3 billion yuan in intelligent industry and completed 608 projects of "intelligent transformation to digital transformation".
