Industrial Cluster: It Is Predicted That Cotton Production In Cote D'Ivoire Will Increase By 6% In The Next Two Years

According to Agence France Presse on July 26, State Minister and Minister of Agriculture Ajumani held a press conference on July 25 to look forward to the cotton production season of 2024-2025 and announce relevant subsidy policies. Arab said that the 2024-2025 cotton season began at the end of May, and the seed cotton output is expected to reach 367000 tons, 6% more than the 348000 tons harvested in the previous season. The government decided to allocate 8.6 billion CFA (about 14.2 million US dollars) to subsidize farmers to purchase inputs at a lower cost. He also said that in 2024-2025, the purchase price of each kilogram of primary seed cotton would remain at 310 CFA francs (US $0.51), the same as that in 2023-2024.
