5G+AI Provides An Extraordinary "Brain" For The Clothing Industry

Recently, reporters participated in China Mobile's "Move Up to New Journalists" to feel the strong vitality of 5G+AI for the clothing industry in the Yangtze River Delta.
In Jiangyin City, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China Mobile Jiangsu Company deployed a 5G network in the stores, warehouses and factory areas of Hailan Home to ensure high-speed and low latency data transmission and strongly support intelligent production; At the same time, we helped Hailan Home create a digital transformation plan, and promoted the refinement of the production process, reduced production costs and improved product quality by building an information platform, building a smart exhibition hall, implementing 5G+AI quality inspection and 5G-A intelligent retail management system.
For example, the "5G+AI intelligent supply chain integration quality inspection project" introduces AI machine vision technology into the fabric inspection field, and conducts accurate quality defect detection in the fabric cutting and garment processing links. Through the deep integration of 5G private network, industrial quality inspection platform, end training and AI algorithm, edge computing and application, the 7 × 24 continuous intelligent quality inspection of garment pieces and ready-made garments has become a reality.
"The control cabinet and unwinding system ensure that the cloth does not have wrinkles during transmission and passes through the visual recognition module area stably." Tao Feng, director of the intelligent manufacturing R&D department of Hailan Home, said that the industrial camera quickly collects the image data of the cloth, and the detection system synchronously identifies and analyzes the image, judges whether the piece ironing matches the design drawing, and accurately marks the defective cloth. At the same time, the 5G private network will upload the collected image data to the cloud at a high speed, and use high-performance servers to continuously train and optimize algorithms to further improve the efficiency of defective cloth identification. At present, the quality inspection qualification rate has risen from 95% to over 97%, and the labor cost has been reduced by at least 3 million yuan every year.
In Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China Mobile Zhejiang launched LINKHAND AI, a service platform, in response to the flexible production characteristics of Ningbo Chunhe Fashion Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Chunhe Fashion") with high quality, multiple varieties and small batch, integrating 5G+computing network capabilities. It is based on the AIGC (generative artificial intelligence) model and integrates the functions of clothing style design, fabric and pattern development. Relying on AIGC's creative design ability and big data analysis ability, users can use a series of functional applications such as fabric fitting, line draft, style expansion, inspiration creation, pattern creativity, and intelligent version library.
Chunhe Fashion needs to produce more than 7000 models every year, and design more than 20 new models every day. Now, the staff only need to input the plane drawings into the relevant system, and then they can realize the high simulation 3D digital sample clothing modeling through digital technology, and automatically complete the design of clothing styles, fabrics, patterns and other aspects.
"When I was designing clothes, I had to read a lot of fashion styles of the season and draw sketches by hand. It often took 3-5 days from the sketch to the presentation of the final sample effect, and a lot of communication and adjustment were needed in the middle. LINKHAND AI It supports the direct upload of popular styles of the season. It only takes 5 to 10 seconds for the system to provide various ready to wear schemes that can be used for reference, and present the final effect of the model trying on. " A front-line designer of Chunhe Fashion said that with the support of LINKHAND AI, designers can even create a line draft while sketching, and then adjust the draft according to the clothing effect, which greatly improves the efficiency.
The data shows that after the application of LINKHAND AI service platform, the R&D cycle of Chunhe fashion clothing products has been shortened by more than 80%.
It is reported that in addition to LINKHAND AI intelligent design platform, Chunhe Fashion also uses the supply chain platform, enterprise big data command center, production line hanging system, intelligent logistics transportation system of sample clothing workshop, etc. to realize seamless connection and real-time update of important data.
