Nike CEO Mark Parker Talks About The Future Development Of Nike

Why do you choose to open Air Max Con in New York, Tokyo and Hongkong?

The three cities have a strong culture of sneakers and influence the whole world.

Here, there are many shoe collectors and Air Max enthusiasts, so we chose to open Air Max Con in New York, Tokyo and Hongkong.

These places are developing very well in terms of innovation, fashion and life.

If it's about digital technology or social culture, it's not just limited to it. The key is that these three cities are full of vitality, and they are located in different parts of the world. This allows different cultures to have an opportunity to understand who we are and what we are doing.

What can CON bring to you?

I think this is the design and pair of Air Max itself and Air Max.

Cultural influence, cultural heritage of sneakers, and a celebration of different forms of sneakers.

As a designer, I am very surprised to witness these changes.

I like to see that a thing can be interpreted in many different ways, which is very visual.

This is what we want to do when a real sneaker comes here and can experience it in an interesting way.

What kind of development does Nike hope to achieve through SNKRS app?

App, like products, we try to make it more personal.

Through the actual interaction with app, we can understand in depth what you are looking for and what is important to you. I think this is the general trend.

After understanding the concerns of users, we can create something new.

Innovation is based on the accumulation of every day.

3D-Printing

We see that many sports brands have joined the ranks of 3D printing technology. How does Nike make use of this technology and compete with other competitors?

We have been involved in the use of 3D printing technology for three to four years, and we have added this technology to the clothing and accessories models for athletes. You will see these products in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

But with the progress of science and technology, new materials will be developed, and they will be more potential in rapid simulation and mass production.

Maybe one day, you can walk into a shop and you can match different parts and characteristics of different shoes into a sports shoes you want.

There are some things that we are working on, which I can not disclose here for the time being. But 3D printing technology will be a part of our future.

How to combine 3D printing with existing technologies (such as Flyknit)?

We will have Flyknit combined with 3D printing products.

We use it as a model to understand something in the process of pforming 2D into 3D.

With the development of new materials and the progress of 3D printing technology, we have actually made some models and made world-class athletes test.

At the same time, our most important point is how to personalize and quickly customize products. For example, by analyzing the data of your foot's buffering power, we can build a personal buffer system, and also include your own aesthetic design.
