EVA Shipping'S 16.1 Billion New Ship Order Has Been Placed, Samsung Heavy Industry Takes Over

On March 22, EVA shipping, a shipping company that blocked the Suez Canal for a week, announced that it would order 20 150000teu container ships with a transaction price of US $115 million to US $130 million each, with a total transaction amount of US $2.3 billion to US $2.6 billion, in order to meet the operational needs.

Evergreen shipping said it would place an order from five shipyards including China Hudong Zhonghua shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., China Jiangnan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Japan Jinzhi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Samsung Heavy Industry of South Korea and Hyundai Heavy Industry of South Korea.

Recently, Samsung heavy industry, a South Korean shipbuilding enterprise, has signed 20 orders for the construction of 15000 TEUs container ships with Panamanian shipowners at a total price of 2.8 trillion won (about 16.18 billion yuan). Foreign media said that the ordering unit is Taiwan evergreen Shipping Co., Ltd., the 7th largest shipping company in the world.
