According to the global production and demand forecast released by the U.S. Department of agriculture in June, the U.S. cotton export in 2021 / 22 will increase by 100000 bales to 14.8 million bales. Cotton production and consumption in the United States remained unchanged. Due to the decrease in inventory at the beginning of the period and the increase in exports, the inventory at the end of the period is expected to decrease by 200000 bales to 2.9 million bales.

The average price of upland cotton farms in the United States in 2021 / 22 is 75 cents / pound, which has no change on a month on month basis. In 2020 / 21, the average price of upland cotton farms is 67 cents / pound, down 1 cent month on month.

In 2021 / 22, the global cotton final inventory decreased by 1.7 million bales to 89.3 million bales on a month on month basis, while the initial inventory decreased slightly, due to an increase of 625000 bales in 2020 / 21, which completely offset the increased supply. In 2021 / 22, global consumption increased by 1.1 million bales on a month on month basis, with growth from China, Bangladesh and Turkey offsetting the decline in Indian consumption. Global cotton production decreased by 570000 bales on a month on month basis, mainly due to the reduction of 750000 bales in China.

Global cotton imports increased by 1.1 million bales, with growth coming from China, Bangladesh and Turkey. Global cotton exports increased simultaneously, with growth coming from Brazil, Australia, Tanzania and the United States.
