  “用工荒”压得纺织企业喘不过气

Recently, Li Keguo, general manager of Meyer import and Export Co., Ltd. is a little annoyed.

He found that textile workers became more and more difficult to recruit from the end of last year.

Li Keguo said that at the moment, almost every textile exporters are faced with this problem, because the lack of people, enterprises have to push away the orders already arrived, and at the same time, the cost of personnel has increased dramatically, and the wages of workers have generally increased by more than 20%.

      月薪3000元仍招不到人

"I dare not take the order alone. I don't have enough manpower."

Li said, "labor shortage" began to appear after October last year. Now, some enterprises are overburdened, and the cost pressure is overwhelming.

It is reported that the average monthly wage of the textile and garment export industry is 1500 yuan. If it is a skilled worker, it will be much higher, reaching 2000~3000 yuan, which is generally more than 20% higher than that of a year ago.

Another garment manufacturer in Wuhan said that the industry is generally short of people, mainly because of the shortage of skilled workers.

The official said that because of the sharp rise in labor costs, they could only raise their prices appropriately to customers, but the space was extremely limited. "As we all know, textile and clothing is originally a small profit industry".

Li Keguo said that another move is to readjust the industrial structure, and try to get some higher value-added ones.

At the same time, he said, "the space for us to" pick "is also limited. This is a very competitive industry, and the profit margin is not high.

  “转战”越南找代工

In the first quarter, China's textile and clothing exports dropped by 19%. In Li Keguo's view, this is a dangerous signal.

He said, "what is most worrying now is that the competitiveness of China's textile and garment export industry is greatly reduced as wages rise and raw material prices rise."

Reporters learned that 70% of the orders received by Meyer were outsourced, and only 30% were produced by the company itself.

In the past, most of their orders were subcontracted to manufacturers in Hubei, but this year the situation has changed.

"At the peak time, there are more than 300 large and small enterprises in Hubei to undertake our orders. There are only dozens left now, and the number of workers in these dozens of factories is also decreasing."

Li said, for this reason, they extended their tentacles to their partners outside the province.

It is reported that many small clothing factories in Hubei have been closed down, and Meyer began to look for enterprises in Jiangxi, Anhui and other places.

"We even found Vietnam."

Li disclosed that there is an advantage in Vietnam's production, that is, the cost of manpower is much lower than that of China. At present, the monthly wages of workers are only around 600 yuan.

But he also said he hoped to find manufacturing enterprises in China.

"After all, not every customer recognizes the" MadeinVietnam "(Vietnam made), and foreign production, most of the raw materials are still in the domestic market, so the logistics cost is high, and the expatriate technicians must go abroad to do the same.
