The US Clothing And Footwear Sector Welcomes The Protection Of Intellectual Property Law.

The American clothing and Footwear Association (AAFA) welcomes senators.

"Footwear, clothing and fashion accessories are the most common counterfeit products in the world," said Kevin Burke, President and chief executive officer of AAFA.

"Because American consumers continue to use e-commerce as the main shopping mode, the hooligan website has gradually become a popular way for counterfeiters to send fake products to the United States."

"All industries are beset by counterfeit products. I applaud Senator Clancy's diligence in solving this problem," Burke said.

"The US apparel and footwear industry is committed to cracking down on these fake websites. This bill has set a right direction, providing us with a complete tool to protect against these hooligan websites.

"American workers who work hard to protect the clothing and footwear brands of the same name in the United States are threatened every day by deceiving consumers by these fake websites," he said.

These rogue websites look and feel like legitimate websites, which pose a threat to us brands and disrupt the market with harmful and counterfeit goods.
