In October 2020, the ex factory price of industrial producers in China decreased by 2.1% year-on-year, and remained unchanged month on month; the purchase price of industrial producers decreased by 2.4% year-on-year and rose by 0.2% month on month. From January to October, the ex factory price of industrial producers decreased by 2.0% compared with the same period last year, and the purchase price of industrial producers decreased by 2.6%.

Among the ex factory prices of industrial producers, the price of means of production decreased by 2.7%, 0.1% lower than that of the previous month, which affected the overall level of ex factory prices of industrial producers by about 1.97%. Among them, the prices of mining industry, raw material industry and processing industry decreased by 5.1%, 6.0% and 1.2%, respectively. The price of means of living decreased by 0.5%, an increase of 0.4 percentage points compared with the previous month, which affected the overall level of factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.14 percentage points. Among them, the price of food increased by 0.8%, the price of clothing decreased by 1.7%, the price of general daily necessities decreased by 0.7%, and the price of durable consumer goods decreased by 1.8%.

Among the purchase prices of industrial producers, the prices of fuel and power decreased by 9.9%, the prices of chemical raw materials decreased by 7.0%, the prices of non-ferrous materials and wires increased by 3.0%, the prices of ferrous materials increased by 2.2%, and the prices of agricultural and sideline products increased by 1.9%.

2. Month on month changes in industrial producer prices

Among the ex factory prices of industrial producers, the price of means of production rose by 0.1%, which was 0.1% lower than that of the previous month, which affected the overall level of ex factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.06%. Among them, the price of mining industry decreased by 0.1%, the price of raw material industry increased by 0.2%, and the price of processing industry remained unchanged. The price of means of living decreased by 0.1%, the same as that of the previous month, which affected the total price level of industrial producers to drop by about 0.03%. Among them, the price of food decreased by 0.2%, the price of clothing and general daily necessities decreased by 0.1%, and the price of durable consumer goods remained unchanged.

Among the purchase prices of industrial producers, the prices of chemical raw materials increased by 0.9%, the prices of building materials and non-metallic materials increased by 0.8%, the prices of ferrous materials increased by 0.2%, the prices of fuel and power decreased by 0.3%, and the prices of non-ferrous materials and wires decreased by 0.2%.
